The other day I was chatting with an old friend about photography and he said “hey, let’s give it a whirl.” I laughed out loud and he had no idea what was so funny. Little did he know that that was one of my mom’s most memorable sayings. I never thought too much about it as a kid but now I think about it a lot. As I was thinking about trying to write about mediation and explain it to people who may not know what it is all about, I might say: “give it a whirl!” In other words: “try it, you might like it” or “give it a chance” or “you don’t know until you try it” …you get my drift.
