Can I Change Horses Midstream?

We often have consults with people who have changed attorneys in the middle of a divorce or people who have started the divorce process on their own and then decide they need help. The key to both of these situations is to not wait until the last minute. It is so hard to help someone at the last minute. There is a great deal of preparation that goes into preparing a case for settlement or a trial. The more time your attorney has, the better. There needs to be time to understand all the facts, get all the exhibits, file and disclose under the court rules and do the final preparation. Yes, it is possible to change horses, so to speak, but do not wait too long.
